Trash to Trails Event

What:

Trash to trails is a special program provided by Pine Line Outdoors designed to connect sponsors with participants in order to help clean up our community and provide clients with affordable adventures and volunteer opportunities.

Who:

Volunteers/Participants:

The volunteer’s role is to assist Pine Line staff to pick up trash along a local roadway for 1 hour/1 mile, then the participants are invited to join a half-day guided hike or rock climb in the Western White Mountains. Participants will receive basic education in natural history, and Leave No Trace and Hike Safe practices during their hike.

The fee to participate is $10 for a hike and $20 for rock climbing, with no fee for the volunteer portion.

Once our goal of $250 for each day is reached, we will contact our volunteers to open up registration. There are 4 spots available each day. Registration is first-come, first-serve. Payment of the registration fee and a signed waiver must be submitted before registration is complete.

Sponsors:

Sponsors can donate any amount to our Trash to Trials effort. Your donation will be put towards our goal of $250 per day. Once our daily goal is met, these donations will enable us to pick up trash on a local roadway for 1 mile/1 hour and it allows each volunteer to participate in a half-day guided hike or rock climb at an extremely discounted rate.

When:

Dates will be determined by participant’s availability. Both weekday and weekend dates are available during the summer and fall. Please indicate preferred dates at the time of sign-up.

Times are flexible and can be customized to each group but will be approximately 9AM- 4PM

Where:

Western White Mountains

Trash clean-up will be done along a section of rt 112. Hike or rock climb will take place in the Lincoln/Woodstock, Franconia Notch, or Kinsman Notch area.

Why:

Our mission is to make the White Mountains accessible to everyone and to do our part to care for the natural places we love. We hope this program can create adventure opportunities at a low cost, inspire others to appreciate NH’s natural spaces, and teach them how to become good outdoor stewards.
